Beginning the first weekend in June and continuing thru October (weather permitting), every Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM and every Saturday morning from 7 AM-Noon, individuals find the north side of the Courthouse square, in downtown Seward, a hustle and bustle of shoppers seeking fresh produce and baked goods. The famous Seward 4th of July Celebration, since 1868, has honored and celebrated the anniversary of our United States. Rich in community history, this celebration has grown to state and national attention, emphasizing the total community effort. This example of "small town" America celebrating, as it has for over 140 years, will again happen this July 4th and we invite you to share this day with us, if not in person, at least in spirit!
Seward, recognized as America's Small Town 4th of July City, hosts the State of Nebraska in an old-fashioned family celebration each July 4th. The observance is unique in that major leadership is provided by high school youth. This event adds new attractions each year and draws upward of 30,000 people. It has been televised nationally on numerous occasions.

Information about the Seward County Fair, traditionally held in August, can be found at www.sewardcountyfair.org

The Annual Seward County Duck Race is traditionally held on the Sunday
afternoon of the Seward County Fair. Prior to the County Fair, the Chamber adopts out hundreds of little rubber ducks. The ducks are numbered and people purchase numbered tickets. On the day of the Great Seward County Duck Race, all the ducks that have been adopted are dumped in the Blue River, and the race is on. Great prizes are awarded to the winners.

The Annual Junior Women's Club Fall Craft Show is held annually in November and draws over 100 artisans/crafters/vendors from all over the state of Nebraska. Great place to do your one-stop Holiday shopping! The 2009 Craft Show will be held November 21st - 9am to 3:30pm at the Ag Pavilion and 4-H Building at the Seward County Fairgrounds.
